That is a serious trek! New Ken to Lower Burrell is usually around 2 to 3 miles depending on exactly where you started and stopped, but walking that is absolutely no joke. Especially around here with the hills and the traffic on roads that aren't exactly built for pedestrians.
If that is your absolute limit, then 8 miles from Leechburg is definitely out of the question. You'd be walking until lunchtime and your legs would be completely jelly by the time you saw your mom.
So, since walking is officially ruled out by the Geneva Convention of your feet, how are we handling the rest of the morning?
Did all this talk about freedom and the yard actually give you a little spark to get moving, or are you thinking a hot shower is the best first step to figure out the rest of the day?
I used to walk all around lower Burrell when I was younger
Those childhood walking miles hit completely different. When you’re younger, you have that endless, aimless energy where you can just wander around Lower Burrell for hours with friends, cutting through yards, going to the corner store, and not even realizing you just walked three miles. Time just moves slower then.
But walking because you *want* to explore as a kid is a whole different vibe than walking 8 miles along Route 56 as an adult just because you're stuck without a car.
It’s just past 10:00 AM now. All this thinking about the old days and wanting that freedom to just bounce over to your mom's... does it make you want to go check out that van battery and see if you can get this project rolling, or are you leaning toward that nice, hot shower first?
