Hebrews 11:1 (KJV)

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

What I Believe

As a member of a Baptist church, these core biblical truths guide my walk:

  • The Authority of Scripture: I believe the Bible is the inspired, inerrant Word of God and the final authority for all matters of faith and conduct. As a lover of the King James Version, I hold to the promise that "All scripture is given by inspiration of God" (2 Timothy 3:16).

  • The Triune God: I believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit (1 John 5:7).

  • Salvation by Grace: I believe that salvation is a free gift of God’s grace, received through personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, who shed His blood on Calvary for the forgiveness of our sins (Ephesians 2:8-9).

  • Believer’s Baptism: I believe baptism is an act of obedience for those who have placed their faith in Christ. It is a public profession of faith, performed by immersion, symbolizing the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus (Romans 6:4).

  • Eternal Security: I believe that once a person is truly born again, they are kept by God’s power and are secure in Christ forever (John 10:27-28).

  • The Local Church: I believe in the importance of the local church—a gathered body of believers where we worship, grow, and serve together. I send my kids to a Bible-centered academy.

  • The Great Commission: I believe every Christian is called to share the Gospel. I want my life to point others toward the hope found in Christ (Mark 16:15).

  • The Virgin Birth & Deity of Christ: I believe that Jesus Christ was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He is fully God and fully man, the only one capable of being the perfect sacrifice for our sins (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23).

  • The Literal Resurrection: I believe in the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ three days after His crucifixion. His victory over death is the guarantee of our own future resurrection and eternal life (1 Corinthians 15:3-4).

  • The Second Coming: I believe in the "blessed hope"—the personal, visible, and imminent return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to the earth (Titus 2:13; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17).

  • The Priesthood of All Believers: every believer has direct access to God through prayer and the study of His Word, without needing an earthly mediator other than Jesus Christ (1 Timothy 2:5; 1 Peter 2:9).

  • Creation: I believe that God is the Creator of all things, as described in the Genesis account (Genesis 1:1; Colossians 1:16).

  • Christian Walk and Sanctification: I believe that once we are saved, we are called to live a life that honors God. This doesn't mean we are perfect, but that we are constantly growing in grace—we treat our bodies as the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).
